These albums were created on the web mainly for our far-flung family members,
but should you have haplessly come our way and are not counted among us
(yet), you are still welcome to join in tasting our whacky and eccentric family here
in Colorado. It's not so much so that people may recognize (and therefore learn
to avoid) our family; but rather to give a glimpse into the passionate bunch of
characters herein, the places our passions take us, and occasionally, the
absolutely nutso things we do.
Ever changing
As my mother, Susan Blackburn, often tells everybody "nothing is permanent",
which is the same as when she says "everything is impermanent", but that just
proves her point. It's an ancient concept which you can faithfully expect
exemplified on this site. Not only will the pictures change, but so may the whims
of the guy who took many of them, so take advantage of them while you can!
What you'll actually find here...
A lot of boring family photos that most of us have already seen a million times.
why it's so hard to find pictures of me on this site. I
am the author after all, so one might expect to find
me in every nook and cranny, right? My excuse for
this apparent modesty, as all designated family
photographers will anticipate, is that my family
doesn't have a designated photographer
photographer; so, the honest truth is that it's really
a challenge for anyone to know what I look like
since there's really no hard evidence of it. My kids
often ask "Where's Dad?" when I'm only 10 feet
away, confirming my suspicion that they don't
actually recognize me without a mouse or Whole
Foods salad in my hand, and pointing to the fact
that to be an effective father one really needs to be
present in more family photos. In the meantime, to
appease my detractors, I have placed above one of
the few pictures of me in existence.
