Milford F. Lawrence, 70, died Thursday in Durham Memorial Hospital
Mr. Lawrence was a retired employee of the Durham Furniture Factory, retiring in 1958. He was a member of Trinity Anglican Church. Born in Egremont twp. , he was a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. George Lawrence. In 1923 he married Annie Moore who survives. Besides his wife, Mr. Lawrence is survived by one son John of Durham six daughters, Olive, Mrs. Robert Jacques of Hamilton, Daisy, Mrs. Clifford Grimoldsby of Toronto, Irene, Mrs. James Morton of London, Mary Mrs. James McCormick, of Owen Sound, and Bernice, Mrs. Robert Eagles of Brampton. Also surviving are three brothers, Stanley of Syracuse, NY, Eric, of Sarnia and Philip, of Oshawa and tow sisters, Ethel, Mrs. Wilvert Oaks of Point Edward, and Martha , Mrs. M. Wegger of Sarnia. Mr. Lawrence was predeceased by a brother. There are 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

On Thursday, September 21, 1961, in the Pine Grove Nursing Home, Pine Grove, Ont. Mary Lawrence of Durham, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of Philip Lawrence; dear mother of Rita (Mrs. Harrie Whitby of Woodbridge. Dear sister of Susie (Mrs. Palmer Patterson), Nancy ( Mrs. Findlay McCuaig) Robert Lawrence, all of Durham; Annie (Mrs. Angus Hooper of Glenelg twp.; Alice (Mrs. Robert Hopkins) of Bentinck twp. Prededceased by Martha, Lottie, James and William. Resting at the McTavish Funeral Home, Durham. Service in Trinity Church on Saturday at 2pm. Internment Trinity Cemetery. Friends will please pay respects prior to the hour of service.
Durham-- A native of Bentinck twp. and a resident of Durham. Mrs. Phillip Lawrence died at the Pinegrove Nursing Home at Pinegrove on Thursday following an illness of only a few days. Mrs. Lawrence had left her home in Durham to visit her daughter, Mrs. Harrie Whitby of Woodbridge and was taken ill while there. She was in her 86th year.
The late Mrs. Lawrence was born in Bentinck twp. a daughter of the late Anthony Lawrence and Charlotte Wright. Her husband predeceased her in 1943.
Surviving to mourn her loss are one daughter and four sisters, Rita, Mrs. Harrie Whitby of Woodbridge, Susan, Mrs. Palmer Patterson, Nancy, Mrs. Findlay MacCuaig, alice, Mrs. Robert Hopkins, all of Durham and Annie Mrs. Angus Hooper of Glenelg. Two sister and two brothers predeceased her. James and William, Martha and Charlotte, Mrs. W. Porter.
Mrs. Lawrence wa a devoted member of Trinity Anglican Church of Durham and a member of the Afternoon Auxiliary of that church.
