Lawrence - Arthur; in Durham Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 15th, 1978, in his 95th year. Husband of Ellen Grasby. Dear father of Doris (Mrs. Archie Henderson) of R.R.#4, Durham. Grandfather of three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Predeceased by three sons, one daughter , seven brothers and six sisters. Resting at the McTavish Funeral home, service, in the chapel, Wednesday at 2 pm. Entombment in Durham Cemetery Chapel, L.O.L. and the Royal Black Preceptory service on Tuesday at 9 pm.
Arthur Lawrence, 94, RR4 Durham, died Sunday in Durham Memorial Hospital. Born in Egremont twp. he was a son of the late John and Sarah Eva Lawrence. He farmed all his life in his native twp. until retiring several years ago.
In 1907 Mr Lawrence married the former Ellen Grasby who died in 1960
Mr Lawrence was a member of Durham Anglican Church, durham Loyal Orange Lodge 1192 and Rooyal Black Preceptory 1163 of Durham.
Surviving are one duaghter, Doria, Mrs Archie Henderson, RR 4 Durha, three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mr Lawrence was predeceased by three sons, one daughter, six sisters and seven brothers.

Florence Young passed away at the Owen Sound Health Centre on Monday, Jan. 9, 1989. Florence Louise Lawrence in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late John Albert Davis and John Clifford Young. Internment Mount Pleasant Cemetery, in Toronto at approximately 3 pm. Thursday.

Egremont twp. native Albert E. Lawrence dies in Western Canada
Albert E. Lawrence a native of Egremont twp., died in hospital at St. Boniface, Manitoba after an illness of two years, on Friday, June 24, 1960 in his 84th year, Mr. Lawrence was born at what is now known as the Rolling Acres Ranch, a short distance east of Wilders Lake, a son of the late John and Sarah Eva Lawrence. He went to Carman, Manitoba in the spring of 1898 where he farmed for some years. He married the former Mary Porter of the Swinton Park district on May 11, 1912, and until about eight years ago they farmed north of Homewood, Manitoba. Mr. Lawrence's wife predeceased him about eighteen months ago. He is survived by one son living at Stoughton, Saskatchewan; three brothers , George of Sarnia, and Arthur and Thomas of Durham, and one sister Rose, Mrs. John Atkinson of New Wesminster, BC. Four brothers and five sisters predeceased him. The funeral was held Tuesday, June 28, in Carman, Manitoba, with internment in Carman Cemetery.
