Joined Canadian Air Force in 1957, posted , 1959 in France. In 1962 took a release from the Air Force in France. worked for a short while in Belguim and then on to a job in Germany and for the next 30 years worked on contract with different companys in Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, England, Libya, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Abu Dahbi, Iraq, Mali Burkina Faso, Niger and Togo. In 1990 decided to retire and looked at a number of places to retire to -South Africa was a nice place but they had big problems- next went to Perth , Australia, it was also very nice but was at least 18 hrs. flying time back to civilization, then went to Canada, but made the mistake of being in Alberta in Jan. and my wife objected strongly to the -40 below weather, also looked at the US (our daughter is married and lives in Virginia) and England. By default we ended up in Germany.
