Note for: Joel Joseph Knox, 9 MAY 1829 - 21 OCT 1854

Individual Note: He first appears on the Montgomery, AL census in 1840, which makes me doubt that he was born in Montgomery. Dad said that William Knox came to AL in 1835, by way of TN, where he met and married Anna Lewis. In the 1850 census he is listed as a clerk, aged 21, and born in AL.

Individual Note: William appears in the Montgomery census of 1860. Was a planter in 1860. He was a Confederate soldier. Jane Jernigan says that "Uncle Willie" used to visit them in Pollard, Alabama. He was a big man with a large moustache and he smoked a lot. She remembers hiding when he had to leave at the end of a visit, so she wouldn't have to kiss him goodbye.[FitzpatrickJR.GED.FTW]

Individual Note: A baptism was found in Trinidad for Jose Domingo Perez, born around the time that would make sense for the person of this name who is the grandfather of Maximiliano. That the baptism record found is of the correct person is extremely likely (in my opinion), but not certain.
